MANILA – Coupon rate of the freshly-issued seven-year Treasury bond (T-bond) stood at 3.625 percent.

National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said the rate is lower than in the secondary market.

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) offered the debt paper for PHP35 billion, and bids were nearly three times at PHP90.386 billion.

The auction committee made a full award.

“Healthy auction with strong demand for seven-year at rates marginally lower than secondary levels,” she told journalists in a Viber message Tuesday.

The BTr offered anew the paper over the tap facility window for PHP25 billion due to strong demand.

“(We are) taking advantage of liquidity and this is stretching maturing,” de Leon added. (PNA)
