PNB chief financial officer dies

MANILA – Lucio Tan-led Philippine National Bank (PNB) lost a ranking official on Thursday. 
 
The bank’s chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice president (EVP), Nelson Reyes, died of an undisclosed cause. 
 
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” it said in a statement, asking the public for prayers for Reyes and his family.
 
The bank has appointed VP Aidell Gregorio, its controller and deputy CFO, as the officer-in-charge of the financial management sector. 
 
Reyes was PNB’s CFO since January 1, 2015.
 
He graduated from the De La Salle University (DLSU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting. He was a certified public accountant. 
 
Before his stint in PNB, he was CFO of HSBC Philippines for more than 10 years and was a director for HSBC Savings Bank Philippines and HSBC Insurance Brokers Philippines. (PNA)
