MANILA – The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) on Tuesday partially awarded the new 20-year Treasury bond (T-bond) which fetched a coupon rate of 5.125 percent.

“This is aligned with movement in secondary levels with curve extension,” National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon told journalists in a Viber message.

There was a strong demand for the debt paper after tenders reached PHP63.069 billion, nearly twice the PHP35-billion offer.

However, the auction committee made a partial award amounting to PHP16.799 billion.

De Leon said they also did not offer the same tenor through the tap facility window during the day.

The BTr will issue the debt paper on July 15, 2021. (PNA)
