Doncic signs supermax contract with Mavericks

ANKARA – Slovenian basketball star Luka Doncic on Tuesday sealed a massive multi-year contract with his team Dallas Mavericks.

"Mavericks, Doncic officially sign five-year supermax extension," the Mavericks said on its website.

The NBA's Western Conference franchise said his new deal was reported to be worth USD207 million and it will start in the 2022-23 season.

So, the Mavericks will keep him on the squad until 2027.

"It was the largest rookie contract extension in history," Dallas added.

The 22-year-old guard has been playing for the Mavericks since 2018.

Last season Doncic averaged 27.7 points, 8.6 assists, and 8 rebounds per game for the Mavericks.

Before Dallas, Doncic had played for the Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

He is also playing for the Slovenian national team. (Anadolu)
