MANILA – The Roman Catholic Diocese of Novaliches (RCDN) will conduct a telethon project on its Facebook page on Aug. 21 to raise funds for programs designed to help the poorest of the poor people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in its jurisdiction.

The RCDN announcement stated that the online fundraising project will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the theme "Tinapay Ko, Handog Ko (My bread, My offering)”.

Among the guests during the livestreaming are Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, a member of Vatican’s Congregation for the Eastern Churches and Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, and Fr. Jerry Orbos of the Christ the King Seminary in Quezon City.

Tagle, who arrived early this month for a vacation, served as archbishop of Manila for seven years until he was appointed to the Vatican by Pope Francis in December 2019.

He left for Rome in February 2020.

The Diocese of Novaliches, created by the Vatican in 2002, has 71 churches in Quezon City and Caloocan City.

The Cathedral of Novaliches is located in Fairview Park along Regalado Avenue in Barangay Greater Fairview.

The current bishop of the diocese is the Most Rev. Roberto Gaa. (PNA)
