MANILA – Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) president and chief executive officer retired Admiral Reuben Lista passed away Tuesday at the age of 73, according to the Department of Energy (DOE).

“Admiral Lista was a staunch partner in realizing our energy goals to effectively implement President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s vision of ushering in a comfortable and secure future for the Filipino people,” the DOE said in a statement.

In the PNOC website, it acknowledged Lista’s contribution for bringing “great milestone(s) and success” to the energy company.

“Passionate and decisive, the energy family deeply grieves the loss of another invaluable member in such turbulent times,” the DOE added.

Before joining PNOC, Lista served as a commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard and also served in the Philippine Navy.

He also held various positions in Philippine Ports Authority, Maritime Industry Authority, National Maritime Polytechnic, Maritime Training Council, and Maritime League of the Philippines. (PNA)
