KIDAPAWAN CITY – More than 42,000 residents here have been inoculated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the city’s Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) announced Thursday.
In a statement, Mayor Joseph Evangelista, concurrent city IATF head, said vaccinations in the city are ongoing.
“To date, 27,583 residents have been given their first dose of vaccines while 14,720 have received their second dose,” he added.
He said a total of 42,303 out of 52,583 vaccine doses that the city received from the national government have been used for eligible priority groups A1 to A4.
Under the A1 category are health front-liners; A2, senior citizens; A3, persons with comorbidities; and A4, essential workers.
He added that the remaining 10,280 doses are being given to listed recipients as the vaccination rollout continues.
Earlier this week, the mayor said the local vaccination program has started serving the A4 group or those listed as front-line economic workers like public utility vehicle drivers, workers in essential business establishments, and those in public markets.
Evangelista said the Department of Health 12 (Soccsksargen) has informed him that Sputnik V jabs are on their way to be used for the second dose of those who earlier received the same brand of vaccines.
To date, the city has 350 Covid-19 active cases. (PNA)
