BACOLOD CITY – Some 2,335 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) have been inoculated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of October 25.

Data released by the NOCPPO on Tuesday showed the figure is more than 98 percent of the 2,373 personnel, but it was not indicated how many are fully vaccinated.

In a virtual press briefing, Lt. Abegael Donasco, the spokesperson of NOCPPO, said the remaining 38 unvaccinated personnel have signed a waiver, which they forwarded to the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6).

“Some have comorbidities while others are either pregnant or lactating mothers, but the number will still decrease as four of them are already scheduled for vaccination by the end of October,” she added.

All the vaccinated police personnel availed of the Covid-19 jabs from the provincial government and the host-local government units of the 31 city and municipal stations as well as mobile force companies across the province.

Those assigned at the NOCPPO headquarters here have been vaccinated under the Provincial Health Office.

They received Sinovac’s CoronaVac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson’s (J&J) single-dose Janssen shots.

As of October 25, the NOCPPO has not recorded new Covid-19 cases but has still three active cases.

Of its 241 personnel who tested positive for the virus, 236 have recovered while two have died. (PNA)
