ANKARA – Friday was a historic night in NBA, as the San Antonio Spurs' coach Gregg Popovich became No. 1 all time in coaching wins, while LeBron James became the oldest player to score over 50 points more than once.

Popovich got his record-breaking 1,336th victory against the Utah Jazz with 104-102, breaking the tie with Don Nelson, who is mentor and a friend for him as he served as an assistant under for two seasons in the Golden State Warriors.

"All of us share in this record," the 73-year-old said about the historic win, "It's not mine. It's ours, here in the city."

Dejounte Murray led the Spurs to a historic victory with 27 points and nine rebounds at AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The Utah Jazz placed 4th with 41 wins and 25 losses while the San Antonio Spurs lay 11th with 26 wins and 41 loses in the Western standings.

LeBron makes another history by scoring 50 points

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Washington Wizards 122-109 while Lakers' star LeBron James went down on history as he became the oldest player to score over 50 points multiple times.

This game marked the 15th 50-point game in LeBron's 19-year career, including the postseason.

The 37-year-old surpassed the record of the former Washington Bullets player, Bernard King, who was 34 when he scored more than 50 points multiple times in the 1990-91 season.

The Lakers' coach Frank Vogel expressed his awe of James' “epic performance” saying, "He's really good at basketball, that LeBron James. I think what stands out to me is the league has never seen a player at his stage of his career do what he's doing."

The Los Angeles Lakers lay at 9th spot with 29 wins and 37 losses in the Western Conference standings while the Washington Wizards placed 11th with 29 wins and 36 losses in the Eastern conference table.
