CEBU CITY – A total of 421 Cebuano micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) have received livelihood kits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
DTI-Cebu provincial director Rose Mae Quiñanola on Monday announced that through the agency’s Negosyo Center here, it continues the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program (PPG) to help typhoon-hit MSMEs in the province.
The beneficiaries of the DTI’s business recovery programs come from the towns of Minglanilla (35 beneficiaries), Sibonga (55 beneficiaries), Malabuyoc (90 beneficiaries), Moalboal (86 beneficiaries), Consolacion (55 beneficiaries), Alcantara (50 beneficiaries), and Ronda (50 beneficiaries).
These entrepreneur recipients received Negosyo Kits worth PHP8,000 each which comprise various items or goods that will be used to restore or improve their business.
“The PPG program is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for micro-enterprises, with priority in areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, such as typhoons and health disasters like outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics, such as Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019),” Quiñanola said in a statement.
She said the program is a post-disaster response mechanism to address the need for continued economic activities in the affected areas.
The Negosyo Center here also conducted seminars on entrepreneurial development and simple bookkeeping to help these MSMEs better their respective businesses. (PNA)
