CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Bureau of Customs (BOC)-Port of Clark has surpassed its collection target for seven straight months.
A report from the Collection Division showed that BOC-Port of Clark exceeded its target with a collection of PHP258.21 million as early as July 25 as compared with its target of PHP258 million.
The actual collection was also 83.35 percent higher compared to PHP140.82 million during the same period last year.
District Collector Alexandra Lumontad on Tuesday said the BOC-Port of Clark’s positive revenue collection performance can be attributed to the collective effort of the personnel in ensuring an accurate assessment of customs duties and taxes.
“The strict implementation of Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) laws, rules, and regulations were significant factors in the port’s success in the monthly collection,” Lumontad said in a statement.
She added that the BOC-Port of Clark would further strengthen its revenue collection efforts to continuously hit its assigned monthly collection target.
“The Port of Clark will remain committed to the Bureau of Customs’ mission of collecting lawful revenues for the government and will continue to implement streamlined processes towards a modernized and credible customs administration,” Lumontad said. (PNA)
