CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Misamis Oriental's "Paglaum" Hotline that will cater to public complaints and emergency response is now operational, according to the provincial government on Monday.

Provincial Administrator John Venice Ladaga said the hotline is in line with Governor Peter Unabia's participatory governance, which is also anchored on the 1987 Constitution and Republic Act 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act.

"This is also in line with Administrative Order 241, series of 2008, or the Institutionalization of Citizens Complaint Hotline," Ladaga said during the launching Monday.

The hotline number is 09177245286, and intended for residents of Misamis Oriental "from all walks of life," he said.

Through the hotline, he said it will be easier for the public to access the provincial Capitol, and have their concerns immediately heard and acted upon.

Col. Gonzalo C. Villamor, provincial police director, said the full support the project, especially in responding to calls for emergency and public safety concerns.

"This (project) is a clear manifestation of good governance, as it truly supports our motto - to serve and protect," Villamor said. (PNA)
