BUTUAN CITY – At least 120,000 poor social pension beneficiaries across Caraga Region are now assured of continuous government benefits and services through the cash cards they received from the regional Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-13) office.

“The release of cash cards ensures the prompt delivery of government assistance to the disadvantaged individuals in the region,” the DSWD-13 said in a statement Monday.

The latest cash card distribution Saturday in Rosario, Agusan del Sur, benefited 100 beneficiaries.

Bedridden beneficiaries received their cards through door-to-door distribution, DSWD-13 said.

The distribution was supported by the branches of government-owned Land Bank of the Philippines in the towns of San Francisco and Rosario in Agusan del Sur.

“There are still numbers of unclaimed cash cards in the region, including those who have moved to new addresses, bedridden, or deceased beneficiaries,” DSWD-13 said.

The agency said it is continuing its efforts, in coordination with partner agencies, to complete the distribution of cash cards before the end of the first quarter of this year. (PNA)
