TACLOBAN CITY – Two persons, including a policeman, died while four others were seriously injured when a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Julita town, Leyte, Monday.

Police identified the fatalities as Pat. Vincent Paul Abad and Noli Caña.

Reports said Abad was driving a motorcycle when he overtook a slow-moving mini dump truck and did not notice an oncoming Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Caña, causing head-on collision near the town center of Julita town around 12:20 p.m.

Both Abad and Caña died while being treated at the Burauen District Hospital.

“Due to the impact of the said head-on collision of motorcycle and pick-up truck, the second vehicle skidded and bumped with the dump truck,” the police report said.

Seriously wounded during the head-on collision were pickup truck passengers Jonaliza Maldo, Christine Codilla, Loreto Baloes, and mini dump truck driver Felix Cabudoc. They were rushed to the same hospital. (PNA)
