ILOILO CITY – The regional and city drug operatives have confiscated over PHP2.48 million worth of shabu in three separate operations that led to the arrest of three suspects, two considered high-value individuals from two barangays in Iloilo City.
Data furnished by the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) identified the suspects in the operation conducted at 3 a.m. on Wednesday by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as Michael V. Seguiter, 35, of Barangay Infante and Earl O. Decla, online casino agent, 34, of Barangay San Juan, both in Molo district.
“The arrest took place after the duo conspired to sell to a police poseur-buyer one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu in consideration for PHP 16, 000.00 buy-bust money in Brgy. West Timawa, Molo,” the PRO-6 statement said.
The operatives confiscated 20 sachets of shabu from Seguiter, considered top 10 high-value individual, and three sachets from Decla, a street-level individual, all weighing more or less 160 grams with value estimated at PHP1.088 million.
On the other hand, the Iloilo City Police Office-PDEU arrested Gemar M. Gevero, 35, a high-value target, in another buy-bust operation that was conducted Tuesday night. Seized from him were more or less 25 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of PHP170,000.
A follow-up search in his rented room in the early morning of Wednesday led to the recovery of 36 sachets of shabu valued at PHP1.224 million.
The three suspects are now at the custodial facility of the Molo and Arevalo Police Stations pending the filing of cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or The Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
