CEBU CITY – Two high-value drug suspects yielded more than PHP30 million worth of suspected shabu in two separate operations in Cebu’s bridge cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue on Black Saturday, the regional police on Monday said.

The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas said 3.1 kilos of shabu worth PHP21 million was confiscated from 43-year-old Pamela Salise Legaspo, native of Cagwait, Surigao del Sur and temporarily residing at Barangay Tipolo in Mandaue City.

Legaspo’s name surfaced during an intelligence exchange through the crime information database and incidence monitoring center (CIDIMC), said PRO-7 chief Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, which led to a joint operation in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

"We throw our all-out support to the BIDA (Buhay ay Ingatan, Droga ay Ayawan) program of the (Secretary Benhur Abalos) and our resolve to stop illegal drugs (in Central Visayas) is uncompromising,” Aberin said.

On the same day, the operatives of the Mandaue City police’s drug enforcement unit arrested another female suspect, Romina Ramas Perez, 44, resident of Barangay Guinacot, Danao City, in a sting operation in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.

Perez yielded 1.5 kilos of suspected shabu with a street value amounting to PHP10.2 million.

The pieces of drug evidence have been submitted for chemical analysis, PDEA-7 said.

Authorities will file charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against Legaspo and Perez. (PNA)
