ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) bandits have surrendered amid the ongoing focused military operations against them in Basilan province, a military official said Wednesday.
Lt. Commander Muksin Jasid, Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) information officer, said Adzhar Usman Langkang and Karasan Turabin Anta turned themselves in on Tuesday and turned over an M16 rifle and an M1 Garand rifle with ammunition.
Jasid said the two surrenderers were presented to Rear Admiral Donn Anthony Miraflor, NFWM commander, at the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in this city.
They underwent medical checkup at Camp Navarro General Hospital (CNGH) before their turnover to the JTF–Basilan for proper documentation.
They will be enrolled in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government as well as the Program Against Violent Extremism (PAVE) for ASG members in Basilan. (PNA)
