DUMAGUETE CITY – The local government of this capital city on Wednesday started its distribution of rice subsidies to job orders and contract of service workers pursuant to Administrative Order No. 02 issued by the Office of the President.

In a statement, the City Public Information Office said a total of 1,510 job orders and contract of service workers are to each receive the 25 kilos of rice subsidy.

Covered by the President’s Administrative Order are specific workers who remain in the government service as of Nov. 30, 2022. Distribution was held at the City Hall grounds.

Consultants and experts engaged for a limited period to perform activities or services with expected outputs; laborers engaged through job order contracts and those paid on a piecework basis; student workers and apprentices and workers hired through the institutional contract of service who are assigned in government agencies are excluded from the rice subsidy, the city PIO said.
