ILOILO CITY – Authorities seized from two jobless high-value individuals PHP3.876 million worth of shabu following a buy-bust in this city’s Jaro district on Tuesday.

The big haul was confiscated from Rene Paches, 41, of Brgy. Man-it in Passi City; and Jean Narciso, 29, of Brgy. Aglalana in Dumarao, Capiz.

The anti-drug operation led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) and the Iloilo City Police Office's (ICPO) City DEU, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), seized from the two suspects more or less 570 grams of shabu and other non-drug items in the operation on Jayme Street in Barangay Luna.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas said in a statement that he was “more than satisfied with the many accomplishments of the ICPO on illegal drugs.“

“The latest drug buy-bust in Jaro this morning where more than PHP 3.8 million was recovered clearly shows the zeal and importance given by the personnel of the ICPO on the fight against illegal drugs,” he added.

The mayor said he will ensure that the needs of the ICPO are met.

The suspects are now in the custody of ICPO Police Station 3 for the proper disposition of their cases. (PNA)
