MANILA – Most areas in Luzon will continue to experience rains caused by the southwest monsoon (habagat), the weather bureau said Thursday.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said occasional rains will be experienced over the Ilocos Region and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and the rest of Central Luzon.

Moderate to heavy rains may result in flash floods or landslides, PAGASA added.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms. PAGASA said severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Luzon will also continue to experience strong winds and rough seas.

The northern seaboard of Northern Luzon will have rough to very rough seas, so fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture into the sea and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

The Visayas will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over Mindanao, PAGASA said. (PNA)
