MANILA – The weather bureau said Friday most areas in Luzon will continue to experience rains due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan will experience occasional rains, while scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Cordillera region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Ilocos region and Central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. weather update that moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers.

Meanwhile, strong winds and rough seas will still prevail across Luzon.

Rough to very rough seas remain likely over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon.

PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small vessels not to venture into the sea, and larger vessels have been alerted against big waves.

The Visayas will still experience moderate to rough seas, while Mindanao will continue to have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
