MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. has designated Maj. Gen. Jonnel Estomo as the new head of the Area Police Command - Western Mindanao (APC-WM).

Estomo replaces Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. who bowed out of the service on Thursday, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Meanwhile, Danao served as officer in charge of the PNP in May 2022, after the retirement of then-PNP chief Dionardo Carlos.

He also served as the chief of the Directorial Staff, the PNP's fourth highest post, and as director of the Manila Police District, PRO 4-A (Calabarzon) and NCRPO. (PNA)
