MANILA – Consumers would have to pay more for cooking gas as prices of household liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by more than PHP70 for a regular 11-kilogram cylinder this month.

In separate advisories, Petron and Phoenix LPG implemented a PHP6.65 per kilogram hike on household LPG and PHP3.70 per liter increase on AutoLPG.

“These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of September,” Petron said.

The LPG price hike for the two players was implemented as early as 12:01 a.m. Friday.

Solane-branded LPG also went up by PHP6.64 per kilogram effective 6 a.m. Friday.

The price hikes translated to an increase of PHP73.04 to PHP73.15 per 11-kilogram household LPG tank for this month.

Data from the Department of Energy shows that prices of 11-kilogram household LPG in the previous month in Metro Manila ranged from PHP718 to PHP935. (PNA)
