MANILA – The partial closure of the Ramon Magsaysay Blvd. westbound lane in Manila will start on Oct. 20 to give way to road repairs which will take three weeks, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced on Wednesday.

In an advisory, the DPWH- North Manila District Engineering Office said road concreting and reblocking works would be conducted at the westbound directions of the boulevard between the intersection of Old Sta. Mesa Street to Altura Street.

“The road rehabilitation works inevitably cause a partial road closure with a 79.70-meter total length and a width of 3.55 meters per lane,” it said.

“Mobilization of equipment will take effect on the abovementioned date, with the breaking and hauling of existing concrete asphalt pavement, base preparation, pouring and curing of concrete pavement, and thermoplastic pavement markings along the whole stretch and span of the project,” the DPWH added.

The road repairs are expected to be finished on Nov. 13, the DPWH added.

The DPWH advised motorists to expect traffic slowdowns in the affected areas and to use possible alternate routes.

The project is part of the DPWH-National Capital Region’s commitment to improve road efficiency and safety for the commuting public within Metro Manila. (PNA)
