MANILA – Several areas in Luzon will continue to experience rain showers due to the northeast monsoon and the shear line, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

The northeast monsoon will continue to cause rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Moderate to heavy rains in those areas may result in flash floods and landslides, PAGASA warned.

Isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon are likely in the Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms, however, may also result in flash floods and landslides, according to PAGASA.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over Northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
