MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Thursday announced that it has deployed two of its helicopters to help in relief operations in General Nakar, Quezon which was hit by a landslide on Wednesday.
In a statement, Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo, PAF spokesperson, said a S-70i "Black Hawk" and a Super Huey helicopter from the PAF's Tactical Operations Wing Southern Luzon to help affected residents of Sitio Angelo, Barangay Umiray in General Nakar.
"The helicopters were deployed to assess the damages and do possible search and rescue operations," she added.
Castillo said one of the helicopters was used to transport the four fatalities of the landslide to the headquarters of the Philippine Army's 2nd Infantry Division in Tanay, Rizal.
"The mission was in close coordination with the local government units/agencies in the area," she added. (PNA)
