LAOAG CITY – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in partnership with Ilocos Norte’s provincial government, announced Tuesday a mobile outreach service for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at the Provincial Capitol Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 10.
“For those who will be needing an OEC (overseas employment certificate), they may come on the said date to process their documents,” said Anne Marie Lizette Atuan, head of the Provincial Public Employment Office.
Atuan said individuals who are not qualified for the online OEC processing and exemption may avail of the online appointment system.
"This forms part of simplifying government services and making it more convenient for Filipinos to secure documents for employment,” she added.
Ilocos Norte is among the first local government units to initiate partnerships with national government agencies, such as the DMW, for mobile outreach programs.
Instead of traveling to the nearest regional offices of national government agencies in San Fernando City, La Union, OFWs in Ilocos Norte and the neighboring province of Ilocos Sur may also avail of such services as e-registration, welfare and legal assistance, and reintegration services, during the mobile outreach service.
