MANILA – A large part of the country will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

This will prevail over the Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon province, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” affecting extreme Northern Luzon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, as well as partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Norte and Apayao.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, the weather bureau said.

The northern and eastern sections of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters, while Eastern Visayas and the northeastern portion of Mindanao will have moderate winds with moderate seas.

The rest of the archipelago will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 17°C to 25°C; Laoag City, 23°C to 33°C; Legazpi City, 26°C to 31°C; Metro Cebu, 27°C to 30°C; Puerto Princesa City, 27°C to 30°C; and Metro Davao, 25°C to 32°C. (PNA)
