Almost P10-M ‘shabu’ seized, 2 suspects fall in Cebu ops

CEBU CITY – A student of an alternative learning system and a high-value drug personality were arrested during two separate operations here on Sunday night and before dawn Monday that led to the confiscation of almost PHP10 million worth of suspected shabu.

Major Jonathan Taneo, chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office, said a total of 1.4 kilos of illegal drugs were confiscated from the possession of alias “Udot”, 18, a student of informal instruction and Renan Terana Pardo, 31, a high-value individual on the drug watchlist.

Pardo was arrested near his residence in Barangay Bulacao on Monday before dawn.

Police seized from him a total of 1.02 kg. of suspected shabu worth PHP6.9 million.

Ylaya, on the other hand, was arrested Sunday night inside a Chinese cemetery in Barangay Carreta, where he also lived with his family.

He yielded a total of 405 grams of shabu worth PHP2.7 million.

“In our database, Pardo belongs to the list of high-value individuals insofar as the Cebu City Police Office’s drug watchlist,” Taneo said.

The duo are now facing drug charges. (PNA)
