BUTUAN CITY – Four personnel of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga) received awards for "exemplary work" that led to the arrest of the most-wanted individuals in the region, an official said Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft, PRO-13 chief, said Capt. Charles Evan Gatchalia, Staff Sgt. Rhayan Mandigma, Capt. Saldy Maestre, and Staff Sgt. Ian Kinnets Alguno served as an inspiration to other police personnel to give their best.

“I thank each of you for your continuous dedication and hard work in support of our mission to maintain peace and order and ensure public safety in the region,” Kraft said.

Joining Kraft during the awarding ceremony on Monday was Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) 13 Assistant Director Donald Seronay.

Gatchalian and Mandigma received the Medalya ng Kagalingan from DILG-13 for the arrest on Aug. 12 of Enrique C. Montano, the region’s most-wanted person for the crime of statutory rape, in Barangay Basag, Butuan City.

Maestre and Alguno, meanwhile, received the Medalya ng Kagalingan for the arrest on Oct. 1 of Roberto C. Anunciado, the most-wanted man in Agusan del Sur, who is charged with rape.

Moreover, the DILG-13 awarded Irwin Olano, a non-uniformed personnel, with the Medalya ng Papuri for "demonstrating efficiency, loyalty, and dedication" in his nine years of service as assistant crime registrar and police-community relations aide at the Taganaan municipal police station in Surigao del Norte.

Olano now works as a planning assistant at the PRO-13 Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division. (PNA)
