MANILA – Northern and Central Luzon will experience the effects of the “amihan” or northeast monsoon, the weather bureau said on Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Aurora and Quezon.

Moderate to at times heavy rains could cause possible flash floods or landslides in these areas, it warned.

Bicol Region, Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will be experienced over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and Visayas.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 23°C to 29°C; Baguio City, 15°C to 23°C; Laoag City, 23°C to 29°C; Tagaytay City, 21°C to 27°C; Legazpi City, 24°C to 31°C; Iloilo City/Bacolod City, 26°C to 31°C; Cagayan de Oro, 23°C to 30°C; Puerto Princesa City, 25°C to 32°C; Metro Cebu, 25°C to 31°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 33°C.
