MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has condemned North Korea's ballistic missile launch last week.

"The Philippines condemns the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) launch of a ballistic missile on 18 December 2023. DPRK’s action provokes tension and undermines economic progress, peace, and stability in the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific region," the DFA said in a statement on Friday.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had earlier joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in condemning North Korea's act.

North Korea fired a long-range ballistic missile, which fell into the sea, west of Hokkaido, according to Japan’s coast guard. (PNA)
