DAVAO CITY – Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte said Monday that consultations are ongoing regarding proposals to revert the school opening from August to June.

Duterte said the Department of Education (DepEd) has already completed the first consultation to return to the June start.

Similar consultations with DepEd regional offices and stakeholders will also be held, Duterte said on the sidelines of the fourth founding anniversary of the City College of Davao here, where she was guest of honor.

She said it would enable them to "get all the feedback in the field for us to craft a plan on what to implement for our school calendar."

Duterte said she would not interfere with the consultation and would cling to the suggestions of experts.

“My job is not to give any opinion, feelings, or judgment. We will lose the non-biased decision-making in our work. We will base it on the suggestion of the experts, research and surveys, and feedback from the students, employees and stakeholders,” she said. (PNA)
