Village councilor, Koronadal traffic enforcer nabbed in anti-drug ops

KORONADAL CITY – Police and anti-narcotics operatives in Maguindanao del Sur province and this city arrested a village councilor and a traffic enforcer during drug buy-busts on Wednesday afternoon.

In Maguindanao del Sur, Capt. Joel Lebrilla, Rajah Buayan police station chief, said authorities nabbed Councilor Whisky Macapeges, 39, of Barangay Gaunan; and Mohaimen Bogado, 30, of the same village during the drug sting operation at 5 p.m.

“They agreed to sell shabu to our undercover agent,” Lebrilla said in an interview, adding that the suspects tried to back out but failed after learning they were dealing with a law enforcer.

Seized from the suspects were “shabu” with an estimated street value of PHP25,000.

The suspects, now detained at the police detention facility,  will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act or R.A. 9165 before the provincial prosecutor’s office of Maguindanao del Sur.

Meanwhile, on the same day here, a traffic enforcer also fell on a 2 p.m. entrapment by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Soccsksargen Region (PDEA-12).

Agent Kath Abad of the PDEA-12, traffic enforcer Jomar Sumagaysay, 42, of Barangay Paulino Santos, is a job order employee of Koronadal City.
