MANILA – Several parts of the country will continue to experience rains due to the easterlies and the northeast monsoon or "amihan," the weather bureau said Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are also expected over Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi due to the trough of the low-pressure area (LPA).

Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will cause light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, and isolated light rains over the Cordillera and Ilocos regions, as well as the rest of Central Luzon.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao

The rest of the archipelago will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 21°C to 31°C; Baguio City, 14°C to 23°C; Laoag City, 21°C to 29°C; Legazpi City, 24°C to 30°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; Puerto Princesa City, 24°C to 31°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 31°C. (PNA)
