MANILA – "Amihan" or the northeast monsoon will bring light rains to the northern part of the country while the easterlies will prevail in other parts of the archipelago, bringing moderate to heavy rains.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Northern Luzon and Central Luzon will experience light rainshowers and a slightly cold weather during the wee hours due to amihan.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon provinces will have cloudy skies with light rains while Metro Manila, along with the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon, will have partly cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers.

The easterlies will prevail over the Bicol region and the rest of the country, which may bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur, PAGASA warned.

Meanwhile, Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds towards the northeast. Its coastal waters may rise from moderate to rough or from 1.2 to 3.1 meters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds going to the northeast and with slight to moderate coastal waters from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

The sun rose at 6:16 am and will set at 6:03 pm. (PNA)
