COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotics authorities arrested two suspected drug peddlers, who yielded over PHP1 million worth of “shabu”, during an entrapment operation inside a lodging house here on Wednesday.

In a statement Thursday, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) Director Gil Cesario Castro said the 4 p.m. operation resulted in the arrest of Madam Sor of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, and her companion, identified only as “Matao" of Pagadian City.

“Both rented a room inside the lodging house near the Cotabato City Plaza in Barangay Poblacion 5, where we set up the entrapment,” Castro said.

He said the suspects agreed to sell to an undercover agent 150 grams of suspected shabu with an average market value. They yielded over PHP1 million of shabu and other pieces of evidence.

The suspects, currently detained at the PDEA-BARMM detention facility here, are facing charges of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA-BARMM has seized over PHP80 million worth of shabu across the region since January this year. (PNA)
