MANILA – The first 20 automated counting machines (ACMs) for 2025 elections have passed the hardware acceptance test (HAT), the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Monday.
In a statement, the poll body said the ACMs delivered by the joint venture led by South Korean company Miru Systems, underwent the test in its warehouse in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
“The diagnostic test results show that all ACM parts, such as the sensor, touchscreen, scanner, printer, camera, USB ports, LED, external keypad, etc. passed the appropriate criteria for each component during the HAT,” the statement read.
The HAT involved unpacking each box, turning the ACM unit on, and running the different diagnostics to ensure that each and every component was working properly by the specifications and customizations set by the Comelec.
Three out of the 20 ACM units will be subjected to test configuration to ensure functionality during the end-to-end demonstration before the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) on Tuesday, it said.
Over 100,000 ACMs will be manufactured by the new technology service provider in South Korea for next year’s midterm polls. (PNA)
