MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) held a two-day motorcycle ride from Manila to Masinloc town in Zambales province which culminated with the provision of medical services to residents as a way to celebrate the country's 126th Independence Day.

In a statement Tuesday, PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo said 104 participants, including military generals, retired and active officers and reservist and celebrity vlogger Ma. Rica Cabarrubias (known as Jet Lee) joined the weekend activities.

Air Defense Command head Maj. Gen. Fabian Pedregosa also attended the event.

"In addition to traveling a total distance of 590 kilometers, the riders also engaged in civil-military operations activities, delivering medical, dental, and other health services to residents in Masinloc," Castillo said.

The services were provided by a medical team from Remote Area Medical Philippines and a team from PAF 1309th Dental Dispensary, among others.

Castillo added that residents received food packs, sacks of rice and other necessities from different government and private organizations.

The activity is also a part of the celebration of the PAF's 77th founding anniversary on July 1. (PNA)
