MANILA – The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has vowed to go fully digital by 2025 as it assures Filipino emigrants that the Philippine government has programs and services to support them.

“As per the instruction of PBBM (President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.), all our front-line services will be fully digital po in a way that hindi na kailangan ng mga CFO clientele na magpunta onsite (CFO clientele need not go onsite),” CFO chairperson Secretary Romulo Arugay said in an interview on Wednesday.

This is in line with the CFO’s goal to expand and strengthen the agency to serve the growing number of Filipinos who leave the country to settle abroad better.

Records showed there are more than 5 million overseas Filipinos worldwide, with concentrations in the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, and Italy.

The agency has already implemented the online pre-departure orientation seminar and the CFO registration system.

Meanwhile, already in the pipeline is the digitalization of the CFO’s guidance and counseling program, pre-departure services, and others. (PNA)
