2 nabbed, P10.2-M shabu seized in Quiapo buy-bust

MANILA – Agents of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) arrested two drug suspects and confiscated PHP10.2 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Quiapo, Manila Wednesday afternoon.

In a report, PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the suspects Lope Alvarez Hernandez and Nacer Gunda were arrested around 3:15 p.m. along Arlegui St., Barangay 387.

Police officers confiscated from the suspects a total of 1.5 kg. of shabu, divided into a piece of heat-sealed plastic bag and 13 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, two, a 9mm pistol and a caliber .45 colt commander.

The suspects were brought to PDEG’s Special Operations Unit-National Capital Region office and would face charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The pieces of drug evidence were turned over to the PNP Forensic Group at Camp Crame in Quezon City. (PNA)
