MANILA – Singapore-based tech and startup media platform e27 is bringing the Echelon business conference in the Philippines for the first time.

Happening on Sept. 26 to 27 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Echelon Philippines 2024 brings together startup founders, entrepreneurs, investors, and experts to fuel the growth of the Philippine startup ecosystem.

The event will feature keynotes, panel discussions, startup showcases, and networking opportunities to foster collaborations and attract investments.

Echelon’s debut in the country highlights the Philippines' rapid rise as a startup hotspot in Southeast Asia.

The Philippine edition comes after successful events in other parts of Southeast Asia, promising to shine a spotlight on local startups and their potential.

"We're excited to showcase the Philippines' vibrant startup scene through Echelon Philippines 2024," said e27 co-founder and program Director Thaddeus Koh, emphasizing the conference's role in empowering the next generation of tech leaders and driving economic growth.

Echelon, launched by e27 a decade ago, aims to promote innovation and collaboration in the startup industry across Asia.

Meanwhile, the country’s lone founder-focused startup incubator Brainsparks noted that the Philippines is gaining momentum as it positions itself as the world’s fast emerging startup hub.

"The growth we are seeing in the Philippine startup ecosystem is encouraging for both startups and venture capitalists. There are immense opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship here. Our startups are becoming more competitive in the region,” Brainsparks co-founder Artie Lopez said.

In the 2024 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER), Manila startup ecosystem boosted its value to USD6.4 billion from its value in the previous report in 2023 at USD3.5 billion. (PNA)
