CEBU CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested two women allegedly involved in the illegal production and selling of fake Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Tax Identification Number (TIN) in Talisay City.

Lawyer Renan Oliva, regional director of NBI-7, said various fake TIN cards were confiscated from Jerissa Aricuatro, alias “Yuri Chan” during a sting operation Wednesday.

They conducted the operation after BIR in Talisay City requested the bureau to investigate individuals involved in the illegal production and selling of government IDs, including BIR TIN.

The cards are being sold at PHP180 each. Transactions are being made online.

Aricuatro admitted that she was only a reseller and that she sourced the fake IDs from someone she called "Printer".

A follow-up operation was conducted in Barangay Lagtas also in Talisay City that led to the arrest of "Printer” who was later identified as Geraldine Lomongo Tausa.

Operatives seized from Tausa 240 fake BIR TIN cards and 250 blank PhilHealth cards, a laptop and a printer.

Criminal charges are being readied against the two suspects. (PNA)
