Carina, 'habagat' ground 73 flights

[UPDATED] MANILA – Heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat” grounded nine flights between Manila and Taipei, and 64 domestic flights on Wednesday.

As of 11 a.m., the following flights were grounded, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA):

MIAA said Royal Air's flight RW 130 From Da Nang bound for Manila was diverted to Clark.

Meanwhile, in an advisory shared at 10:39 a.m., Cebu Pacific said NAIA Terminal 4 is closed and inaccessible due to flooding.

All CebGo flights will be diverted to Terminal 3.

 

The weather bureau forecast heavy rains and strong winds over parts of the country, especially in Luzon, due to Carina and the southwest monsoon.

Carina is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility Wednesday night or Thursday and is expected to make landfall over the northern portion of Taiwan on Wednesday afternoon or evening. (PNA)
