ABU DHABI – President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has sent a message of condolences to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. after Super Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon left several casualties and injuries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, sent similar messages to President Marcos.

The Philippines’ Office of Civil Defense (OCD) is validating reports from the Philippine National Police that at least seven people were reportedly killed due to landslides.

The torrential rains left many areas, including in Metro Manila, flooded, forcing Malacañang to suspend government work and school classes on Wednesday and Thursday.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is wishing a speedy recovery for all those who were injured. (WAM)
