CEBU CITY – A high-value drug suspect was arrested during a sting operation in Liloan town, north of Cebu Thursday, and yielded some PHP8.1 million worth of shabu.

In a report Friday, Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of the Police Regional Office 7, said combined elements of the provincial and Liloan police seized 1.2 kilos of shabu from the 21-year-old male suspect.

Aberin commended the operation which he said was a result of several weeks of intelligence work.

“In the past weeks, a series of arrest of drug peddlers and confiscation of huge amounts of illegal drugs were again initiated by PRO 7 police units, indicating that this fight will continue with the same intensity until all drug personalities are out to where they rightfully belong --our jails,” he said.

The suspect was brought and temporarily detained at the custodial facility of Liloan police while documents were being prepared for appropriate filing of drug charges.

Cebu provincial police chief Col. Percival Zorilla said the arrest of the suspect “was a significant achievement for the police force, demonstrating their commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and protecting the youth from drug-related dangers.” (PNA)
