LEGAZPI CITY – Two police officials assumed posts as the new Philippine National Police provincial directors in Camarines Sur and Catanduanes early this week.

In an interview on Friday, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) chief Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon said the movement and change of leadership in the two units provides opportunities for the career advancement of police officials.

Col. Virgilio Olalia Jr. assumed the post as the new chief of the Camarines Sur Provincial Police Office, replacing Col. Julius Caesar Domingo, who will be pursuing further schooling and training.

Meanwhile, Col. Edward Quijano is new head of the Catanduanes Provincial Police Office and replaced Col. Ryan Ador, who was named as the new chief of the Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division of PRO5.

Olalia was formerly assigned as chief of the Regional Operations Division in PRO5, while Quijano was formerly assigned to the Manila Police District.

Olalia belongs to the PNP Academy (PNPA) Magilas Class of 2000, while Quijano is a member of the PNPA Buklod-Diwa Class of 2001.

Dizon ordered the police directors to ensure maximum police visibility in places of convergence in their respective areas.

"It was tried and tested that people really appreciate police visibility in their areas so much more if the commander is working on the ground," he said. (PNA)
