MANILA – Authorities raided a warehouse allegedly being used as a shabu laboratory in Sarangani province on Sunday.

In a report submitted to Camp Crame on Monday, the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG)-12 said members of the Sarangani Police Provincial Office, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine Army implemented a search warrant at the warehouse in Sitio Sagel, Barangay Pinol in the province's Maitum town at about 8:45 a.m.

The search warrant was issued by the Alabel, Sarangani Regional Trial Court Branch 50.

The raiding team discovered various equipment allegedly being used in manufacturing shabu -- 50 pieces of empty unused aluminum green pouches with Chinese characters wrapped in two rubber bands; nine empty blue reaction vessels with motor attached on top of various sizes and with various attachments; two 3.5-diameter white plastic tanks; two blue distillation equipment; eight white plastic water tanks; a steel tank containing water wrapped with insulating foam with four water pumps attached; two stainless centrifuges; steel frames with rods and electrical conduit; a fume hood with scrubber attached to a white-water tank; a large gray compressor and a large water filtration tank.

The report also identified that a certain Tommy Go was seen frequently visiting the area.

It said a case for case for violation of Section 8 (manufacturing of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursors and essential chemicals) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against Go.

The report said the warehouse is inside a camp being claimed by the Moro National Liberation Front.

An investigation is underway to identify the culprits behind the laboratory's operation. (PNA)
