LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) reported on Monday the seizure of PHP8.8 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 134 drug personalities in the six provinces of the region in July this year.

In a report, Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said the illegal drugs consisted of 85.43 grams of marijuana and 1.3 kilograms (kg) of shabu from 133 drug operations.

Among all the provinces and independent component cities, Camarines Sur recorded the highest amount of seized drugs at nearly PHP3.8 million; followed by Camarines Norte; PHP2 million; and Masbate, PHP958,800.

Calubaquib said of the 134 drug violators who were arrested, six were high-value individuals and 33 were street-level individuals.

"The continued success of these operations highlights the importance of relentless law enforcement and community cooperation in the fight against illegal drugs," Calubaquib said. (PNA)
