COTABATO CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in North Cotabato province awarded land titles to two agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) on Wednesday.

In a statement on Thursday, the agency said the land titles were delivered by DAR-North Cotabato personnel to the two beneficiaries at their doorsteps in Makilala town.

“The land titles are proof that they are now the owners of the lands they were tilling,” Lisette Caasi, municipal agrarian reform program officer, said.

The certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs), which pertain to a landholding previously under the name of the Philippine National Bank with a total area of 4.2967 hectares, have been awarded to Salipada Landas and Alberto Saway, both from Barangay Buhay.

Caasi said the initiative aligns with the efforts of Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III to bring the government closer to the farmers.

"This simple deed gives hope to our people that the DAR is doing its best to help the ARBs realize their dreams of owning lands,” she said.

Caasi added the DAR's mandate does not end with providing land titles to the ARBs, as it also offers various forms of assistance, including access to financial aid, farm machinery, training, and infrastructure facilities. (PNA)
